Stations heard on MW this weekend in England...
Hi everybody
Here are the stations heard in England on September 3 and 4. There was a huge amount of static on the band on Saturday, so not so many stations were heard. Sunday was much better, however.
Equipment here was the Lowe HF225 and outdoor loop as usual. All times are UTC:
Saturday, September 4, 2011
1620 1845 Combinatie F16 45344 music programme
1630 1908 Marskramer 55344 music programme
1645 2005 Orban 55334 music programme
1650 2215 Admiraal 45233 asking for report
1653 2238 Barones 55344 music programme
1632 0103 Soerabaya 35233 report for Barones
Sunday, September 4, 2011
1620 2005 Technical Man 55544-55555 music programme
1630 2009 Viking 45434 music programme
1640 2012 Wadloper 33443-44444 music programme
1670 2017 Matrix 35444-45444 music programme
1622 2025 Melkbus 32442 music programme
1640 2043 Professor Zickbok 33433-44444 music programme
1661 2056 Driland 45444-55444 music programme
1647 2110 Witte Tornado 44334-44444 music programme
1637 2140 Spakenburg 53444 qsoing
1638 2143 Pionier 45434 non-stop music
1633 2147 Soerabaya 24332 qsoing
1633 2155 Spakenburg 54444 qsoing
1630 2216 Utopia 54444 qsoing
1640 2229 Soerabaya test 22332
1649 2317 Jeneverstoker 34343 asking for report
Saturday night was quiet and all of the static made it difficult to listen. However, there was no mistaking the huge signal or Orban on the band, together with superb audio quality - depth, bass, treble and warmth - everything
Barones was also busy late on Saturday night with a music programme, during which he mentioned that it was 38 years to the day that he first joined the pirate world as a station operator
Combinatie F16 were on air with a very long programme on Saturday night, with a strong and steady signal and strong audio, and we heard Admiraal for the first time. Although no station came back to give him a report, his signal in England was very strong
On Sunday evening, best signal and audio belonged to Technical Man, who was in the air for some hours with a music programme. The modulation quality was very good indeed
Other strong signals on the band came from Spakenburg, Utopia and Driland, and Pionier was coming in well with non-stop music late into the night on 1638
There were some interesting tests on Sunday, with Matrix taking his power right down to 20w and still audible here with 33333. Soerabaya tried the same sort of test, going down to 35w and received here with 22332
Despite the huge signal of Technical Man on 1620, we were able to receive Melkbus on 1622, using around 150w. On a clear frequency, reception would have been much better
Ok, that's all for now
All the very best from England
David
